Video transcript –mini world cup Our Reporter Helen: What’s happening her today? Rebecca Patel:Today is a world cup tournament with special schools where they have been asked to represent a country and that’s what’s happening here today Helen: And who is taking part? Rebecca:The special schools from acrros the North Staffordshire region approximately sixty pupils are taking part today Helen: And who’s organised the event? Rebecca: Newcastle Partnership has organised the event in partnership with Newcastle Borough Council, Staffordshire FA, we have young referees from Staffordshire FA.Today in attendance we also have lots of partner agencies who will be able to speak to the young people. People like Connections, LGBT Network, Aspire Housing, Challenge North Staffordshire, The Fire Service and our own recycling team. Helen: So who will win trophies and medals? Rebecca: There will be two teams who will win trophies these will be the best team from league A and the best team from league B. Every single young person who takes part will receive a medal and a certificate, the schools themselves will receive certificates to display and there will also be a trophy from the most creative display as well. Helen: And why have you organised this event? Rebecca: Obviously the world cup is in June and what a fantastic way to get young people to find out about different countries and different things they would’nt necessarily have the chance to find out about and football is a fantastic way of getting people together and having a little friendly competition between different countries we will all learn something as well. Helen: Will there be any other events like this in the future? Rebecca: We are hoping to have a primary school event similar to the one we are running today in June time that’s what we are hoping Helen: Thank you
