About the service

Making compost at home is the most environmentally friendly way to turn your garden waste into something useful.

For many people, the Council's garden waste collections are a useful second choice.

Garden waste is collected from brown-lidded wheelie bins in the Borough.  These collections take place fortnightly and the service is expanding.  They are a convenient way to get the waste from your garden collected from your home.  Collections are made from the kerbside outside your house each fortnight.  Collections start at 7am.  Calendars are delivered to each house so it’s easy to know when to take part.
