The two pools offer the chance of leisure swimming, aqua-fit classes and a wide range of lessons for children and adults at all levels.

The large pool is 30m x 10m and also has a 45m water flume, popular with adults and children alike. The smaller training pool is used for lessons and thousands of children attend swimming lessons at Jubilee Pool every year.

Both pools are used by a variety of clubs including Newcastle Swimming Club, Splash, Octopush (underwater hockey), Beth Johnson Swimming Club and the Ladies Club.

The Health Suite has Turkish steam rooms and a sauna and, along with the relaxation area, is the perfect way to unwind.

There is also a Castle Gym fitness suite which have recently taken delivery of 12 new pieces of Techno Gym equipment.

Free Swimming

Due to the withdrawal of funding by the government the free swimming programme will cease on 31st July 2010.

From 1 August 2010, the over 60’s will be required to join the Activ8 scheme and pay the normal admission charge of £1.80 each time they come in swimming. Alternatively, they can join the off peak Castle Gym membership and have unlimited day time swimming and gym sessions for £18 per month. Off peak times are monday to Friday 7.30am to 5.00pm, all day Saturday and Sunday.

Under 16’s will be able to swim for free during the summer holidays as part of the Splat programme.  Each child eight - 16 will need to register as a Jets member – Registration is free from now until 5 September 2010.  Free swimming sessions are from 10.00am – 12.00pm at both Jubilee Pool and Kidsgrove Sports Centre.  Children under eight may swim for free at the same time, but they must be accompanied by a paying adult.  On the 6 September 2010, normal child admission charges will apply.
