Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council has teamed up with NHS North Staffordshire to offer subsidised courses for boys and girls aged from five to 13.
Youngsters will take part in a range of fun activities including mini-soccer, penalty competitions, crossbar challenges and skills coaching.
The sessions will take place from 10am to 4pm at Knutton Recreation Centre on Monday, 15 and Tuesday, 16 February; Roe Lane playing fields on Wednesday, 17 and Thursday, 18 February and Kidsgrove Sports Centre on Thursday, 18 and Friday, 19 February.
Cllr. Mary Maxfield, Cabinet member for culture and active communities, said: “Football is fun to play and a great way to stay in shape, both physically and mentally.
“The courses will be popular so I would advise parents to book their children’s places early to avoid disappointment.”
The two-day courses cost £6 per child or £9 for a family.
Jacqueline Small, Head of Health Improvement at NHS North Staffordshire, added: “Keeping active can make a big difference to children’s health and well-being, and the football programme is a fun way of helping them to stay healthy.”
