River Trent Talk at Museum

Historian Richard Stone will reveal fascinating details about the River Trent at Newcastle Museum and Art Gallery on Sunday, 21 March.

Richard, from Burton-on-Trent, will give an illustrated talk at 2.30pm. A talk originally planned for 21 February had to be postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

From a mere trickle at its source near Biddulph Moor, the Trent becomes a mighty waterway on its 171-mile journey to the Humber estuary.

Richard will explore the story of transport on the river from historic to modern times.

The talk, organised by the Friends of the Museum, is £1 for Friends and £3 for the general public. Refreshments are included.

People can pay on the day or book in advance - phone the museum on 01782 619705.

Anyone who bought a ticket for the February talk can use it in March.
