For ease of use we have created a weekly list of planning applications all viewable online.
The weekly list provides a list of all the planning applications either validated or decided by the Council in a given week.
The Council aims to have all application documentation available online within 5 days of the receipt of a valid application.
As you enter the Public Access system you are assumed to be aware of and accepted our terms and conditions, copyright and limitations of use.
Statutory notices are an important way of ensuring residents and businesses in our area are kept informed of decisions by the Borough Council which may affect their quality of life, local amenities or property.
These notices can be about planning applications or buildings; highways closures or traffic regulation changes; notices about pubs or taxi licence applications.
They originate from a bygone age where the printed word was our key source of information.
How we consume information has drastically changed with advances in technology. Statutory notices need to change too.
The Borough Council is therefore working with the Government, The Sentinel and other local councils to pilot innovative ways of improving statutory notices.
Over the next few months we will be involved in a pilot project which will explore how we change statutory notices so that they reach more people, are easier to read, give greater visibility and transparency to big issues and reduce costs in a sustainable way.
One of the ways you can get involved with this project is by signing up to a panel which has been set up by The Sentinel.
