To report a problem with:

• Drainage
• Footways
• Pavements
• Pedestrian / pelican crossings
• Potholes
• Roads
• Street Lights
• Traffic lights
• Verges - Grass, hedges etc,
• Zebra Crossings

Please either:

•  log an enquiry report online or,
• call the CLARENCE helpline on 0800 23 23 23 free between 8am and 6pm or,
• Email: clarence@staffordshire.gov.uk

Staff will ask you a few brief questions on the type of problem and its location.

From this information a report will immediately be sent for action. When your details are taken, your complaint will get a unique reference number, so you can track its progress.

The Staffordshire Clarence Contact Centre is open between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.

Reporting out of hours 

If you wish to report an urgent or emergency highway defect or fault outside the Clarence Contact Centre opening hours which need to be attended to urgently, please ring 08700 555500 .  

You will be asked to quote a pager area number, as a call sign, to enable the relevant duty superintendent to be contacted.

• For highway defects in Staffordshire Moorlands District and defects in East Staffordshire District to the north of Uttoxeter , please quote AREA 1 . 
  
• For defects in Stafford District please quote AREA 2 .
  
• For defects in South Staffordshire and Cannock Chase Districts please quote AREA 3 .
  
• For defects in Lichfield and Tamworth District please quote AREA 4 .
  
• For defects in the remainder of East Staffordshire District please quote AREA 5 .
  
• For defects in Newcastle District please quote AREA 6 .
