2021 Elections

A Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner election and a Staffordshire County Council election will be taking place on Thursday, 6 May 2021. A Chapel and Hill Chorlton Parish election, due to also take place on the same day, has been uncontested and all candidates who stood have been elected in unopposed.

These will be the first elections taking place in Newcastle-under-Lyme during the Covid-19 pandemic. Electors will still be able to visit polling stations to cast their votes in person. All polling stations will be safety compliant with government guidelines surrounding Covid-19 and further information will follow on this at a later date.

A postal or proxy vote can be arranged for those unable or not wishing to visit a polling station by completing a form below. Once completed, please email back to electreg@newcastle-staffs.gov.uk or send by post to: Elections, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, Castle House, Barracks Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 1BL. If you are unable to complete the postal vote application below, please contact 01782 717717 and we can send a postal vote application form to you.

If you are not currently registered on the electoral register, applications can be made online at: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote . The last day to register to vote in time for the elections is 19 April 2021.

If you are unable to get to your designated polling station on the day of the poll and would like to vote by post or appoint a proxy, please contact Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council on 01782 717717 or email electreg@newcastle-staffs.gov.uk . We would need to receive completed postal vote applications by 5pm on 20 April 2021 and completed proxy vote applications by 5pm on 27 April 2021.
