Hours: 22 hours per week (36 weeks per year plus holiday pay) 

Salary: £21,748 (per annum, pro-rata)

Times are changing for the Aquatics Team.  We are therefore looking to expand our team of Swimming Instructors to deliver our new School Swimming and Water Safety Programme.

You will be providing instruction and a ‘can do’ attitude to support school children to learn to swim.  An important team member, you will be familiar with the Swim England School Swimming and Water Safety Programme and ensure that lesson changeovers are achieved in a professional and timely manner.

You must also be familiar with and adhere to, the Council’s Health and Safety Policy, helping us to deliver safe, enjoyable activities at all times.

Due to the expanding and diverse programming of the School Swimming Programme at Jubilee2, there will be the continuing opportunities for you to access further training and assist with the delivery of activities.  In these cases, all training will be provided.

You must possess a valid RLSS NPLQ or NRASTC, an ASA level 2 swimming instructor certificate or equivalent and have experience of a customer facing, leisure role.

Hours of work will be between 9am – 3.30pm Tuesday – Friday (dependant on bookings from local schools and times will be clarified at interview) commencing September 2021.  These posts are on a Fixed Term Contract for a period of 2 years with the potential to become permanent.

These posts are exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and, as such, appointment will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Criminal Records Bureau before the appointment is confirmed.  This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings, as well as convictions.
