£150 Council Tax rebate

If you live in a property in council tax bands A to D, you are likely to receive a £150 council tax rebate from the Government to help with the cost of living.

The rebate will not need to be repaid.

If you currently pay by direct debit

All existing direct debit Council Tax payees were paid on Wednesday 27 April 2022. The transaction on your bank statement will quote your council tax reference (3333333) CTax Rebate.

Please note: in exceptional circumstances you may have a direct debit set up but it will not be automatically paid, for example:

  • if your bank direct debit details do not match our council tax records
  • it is a second home or an empty property
  • you pay the direct debit for the tenant or relative

Therefore, you would need to make a claim.

Cut off dates

The cut off date used for the first batch above is any direct debit payer as at 18 April 2022 (resident in the borough on 1 April 2022).

For any new direct debit customers after 18 April 2022 (resident in the borough from 1 April 2022), please apply.

Please leave 14 days after your application before chasing for payment.

Please note: for any new accounts created after 1 April 2022 but you are resident from 1 April 2022, you must claim using the form but you need to leave 1 week from the date of your bill before doing so. This is because we are doing weekly batch runs for new accounts.
