Daniel Jones DANCE
At Jubilee2 award winning choreographer and celebrated international dancer, Daniel Jones, presents unique dance and technical classes, 1-2-1 coaching and performance opportunities for all ages and abilities. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Daniel Jones attended the Royal Ballet School from 1985-1992 and joined English National Ballet in April 1992, where he rose to the rank of soloist and performed internationally with the company for twenty-two years.
Daniel featured in ITV’s ‘Men in Tights’, the BBC documentary series ‘Agony and Ecstasy: A Year with English National Ballet’ and was also awarded three Gold stars on Sky One’s ‘Got To Dance’.
In 2014 Daniel left English National Ballet to pursue his own direction in dance and has since taught workshops all over the world.
Daniel is Resident Choreographer at Newcastle-under-Lyme Performing Arts Centre and Culture and Dance Leader at Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, delivering an inclusive dance programme at Jubilee2 dance studios.
First Positions Monday and Thursday 11am-11.45am
A magical exploration of all things dance - from ballet to commercial, for carer and child, from newborn to four years of age.
Ballet Essentials Monday 4pm-5.30pm
An introduction to classical ballet class suitable for absolute beginners or for dancers who wish to further develop classical line, posture and technique.
General Ballet Friday 11.30am-1pm
A traditional dance class exploring all classical ballet vocabulary. The class includes barre work, centre practice and travelling exercises.
Pro Ballet Saturday 9am-10.30am
An advanced classical ballet class in the format of a professional company class. The class includes barre work, centre practice, petit and grand allegro.
Contemporary Moves Tuesday 4.30pm-6pm
A series of modern ballet warm up exercises followed by dynamic, flowing and free movement sequences culminating in a contemporary group dance.
Cardio Dance Commercial Wednesday 4pm-5.30pm / Saturday 11.30am-1pm
A series of physical, balance, agility and coordination exercises followed by a choreographed commercial group dance.
DJ Dance for Parkinson’s Thursday 11.45am-12.45pm
A creative exploration of physical and empowering movements inspired by ballet and contemporary dance.
Dance Conditioning Wednesday 8.30pm-9.30pm
A series of floor exercises and stretches to fine tune the body, improve posture, balance and wellbeing.
Dance Stretch Tuesday 6pm-7pm / Saturday 10.30am-11.30am
A gentle warm up to oil muscles and joints followed by a series of gentle stretches designed to rebalance, realign and re-energise the whole body.
30-minute one to one coaching sessions are available for all ages and abilities. Sessions are suitable for beginners to professional whether dancing for fun, positive health benefits or professional career development.
Performance opportunities are open to all ages and abilities. Daniel Jones DANCE performers are divided into three groups; DJ Swans, DJ Montagues and DJ Capulets.
A full day of dance classes for ages 8+. The programme of classes includes ballet, contemporary, commercial, conditioning, stretch and creative workshops.
