Heritage Open Days: Battle of Blore Heath anniversary event- talks and living history weapons display

Did you know there was a medieval battle in Newcastle-under -Lyme?
Learn more about the 1459 Battle of Blore Heath near Loggerheads in this series of introductory talks by battlefield expert Mark Hinsley. There will also be chance to see and hold replica weapons that were used in the battle with local medieval re-enactment group "Bellum Fraternum"

St Margaret's Church, Knutton Road, Wolstanton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 0HU

The church will be open to the public including belfry tours and commonwealth war graves cemetery tour. Heritage displays within in the church include Wolstanton heritage photographs and church records access, a WW1 display is also available including artifacts from the conflict and public access to soldiers photographs published during the war within the Weekly Sentinel. Refreshments are available.
