MAKE-UP tips from the women of Ancient Greece are among the secrets set to be revealed at Newcastle’s Brampton Museum next month...
Professionally-trained actor Carla Phillips presents a special talk on ‘The Life of Women in Ancient Greece’ – including what they used as lip gloss! – on Friday 2 June.
Dressed in authentic costume, Carla will provide a ‘hands-on’, fun experience for her audience, including props to try, food to taste and tasks to take part in.
Her educational theatre company Travellers Through Time specialises in history experience days and workshops, and has worked at The British Museum, Chester’s Grosvenor Museum, World Museum Liverpool and many primary and secondary schools.
‘The Life of Women in Ancient Greece’ starts at 7:30pm and finishes at around 9:30pm. Tickets – which include tea and cake – are £12.50, and pre-booking is essential.
