Eco-Forum to be held in Newcastle

Teachers and children will learn more about how to create eco-friendly schools at an event organised by Newcastle Borough Council’s green team.

The Eco Schools Community Forum will include workshops and demonstrations on a wildlife theme.

The event, at the Keele University Sustainable Hub on Wednesday, 29 March, is open to teachers, children and volunteers. It will be opened by Cllr Amelia Rout, Newcastle Borough Council Cabinet member for Leisure and Culture, and Cllr Ann Beech, Cabinet member for Operational Services.

There will be practical demonstrations and themed activities, including hedgehog box and art activities for primary school aged pupils.

There are plans to hold a similar event for secondary school aged pupils and their teachers later in 2017.
