Children are being encouraged to go wild this half term in a partnership between Newcastle Borough Council and the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.
The Wildplay event is designed to encourage children off their games consoles and into the countryside to take part in activities including den building, scavenger hunts and bird box making.
The Newcastle event will be held at Bunny Hill, Clayton, on Tuesday, 21 February. It is free to attend and takes place between 2pm and 4pm.
Participants are advised to wear sturdy shoes, or wellies, and bring a drink of water.
Newcastle residents are being encouraged to take part in a wide range of outdoor events as part of the borough’s 2017 Britain in Bloom campaign.
