Keep fit and learn new skills with Kidsgrove Sports Centre this half term

Children can explore Newcastle-under-Lyme’s parks or practice their sporting skills by joining in activities with Kidsgrove Sports Centre during autumn half term.

The council’s sport  and active lifestyle team are staging a choice of activities to help keep youngsters active during half term week (Monday, 24 October to Friday, 28 October).

Footballers can enjoy a coaching day at the centre on Thursday, 27 October, while a multi-sports event on Friday, 28 October, includes activities such as tag rugby, Kwik Cricket, dodgeball and basketball.

Activities take place, on both days, between 9am and 3pm and it costs £10 per child, per day, to attend.

Adventurous children can enjoy Xplorer orienteering sessions, organised by the Kidsgrove Sports Centre team on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday of half term week.

The Xplorer events, which are free to attend, are being held between 1pm and 3pm at parks in the borough.

There is no need to book the Xplorer events. Children can join in the fun by turning up at Bathpool Park, Kidsgrove, on Monday, 24 October, Clough Hall Park, Kidsgrove, on Wednesday, 26 October, or Lyme ValleyPark, Newcastle, on Thursday, 27 October.

However, advance booking is essential for the football coaching and multi-sport sessions. Bookings are being taken at the Kidsgrove Sports Centre or at Jubilee2, Newcastle, or by phone on 01782 786162.

All events are designed for children between the ages of five and 13.
