A limited edition calendar featuring old photographs of Newcastle-under-Lyme is now on sale at the borough Council’s Brampton Museum and Art Gallery.
The 2017 calendar features photographs taken between 1933 and 1980, including a range from the 1960s, which are held in various collections at the museum.
There is an image of the Guildhall and High Street, from the 1930s, along with images of Newcastle’s town centre and surrounding villages. The calendar also lists useful reminders for some of the museum’s activities.
Cllr. Amelia Rout, Cabinet member for leisure and culture, said: “The annual calendar, produced in-house by the Council from our own collections, showcases a wonderful selection of rarely seen local images.
“The Calendar displays images of historical and social interest, especially for residents of the town, and it would make an excellent Christmas gift.
“We have so many photographs in our collections at the museum that we can’t display them all. So, the calendar allows us another way to make our collections more accessible.”
The calendar costs just £6 and is available from Brampton Museum.
