Special Bloom Campaign is Impeckable
The borough’s milestone campaign in a prestigious horticultural competition gets off to a flying start in Silverdale tomorrow.
Eagle-eyed pupils are looking out for birds at Silverdale Country Park as part of the Big Schools’ Birdwatch, a national initiative by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds to create a map of birds in the British Isles.
Children from St. Luke’s Primary School are among thousands who will learn about different species, how to spot them and their importance in the eco-system.
Newcastle celebrates three decades of taking part in Britain in Bloom this year.
This event, held in partnership with the country park, is one of many planned to encourage the community to attract wildlife into their gardens and green spaces.
