Young gardeners will team up with staff from a local business to help create a real buzz as Newcastle celebrates National Gardening Week.
Children from Giggles & Wiggles nursery will help to create a bee friendly wildlife haven in Brampton Park that they will also use as an outdoor classroom.
The project will transform a tired corner of the park and links to the RHS Greening Grey Britain for Wildlife theme for this summer’s Britain in Bloom Campaign.
Newcastle borough will represent Heart of England in the national Britain in Bloom finals having won a fantastic 15th consecutive Gold medal in 2016.
Giggles & Wiggles nursery is based in the park and the toddlers will be joined by staff from locally based Brampton Recruitment who are sponsoring the new wildlife garden.
By planting a range of perennial plants, the project will provide a colourful haven, giving interest all year round and attracting bees and other pollinators.
