Investigating your pollution complaint

What if the problem continues?

You need to complete a nuisance diary. These can be downloaded here.

Download a nuisance diary

Please fill these diary sheets in with as much detail as you can, to give us a good idea of the issues that are disturbing you.

How do I return the diary?

When you have a reasonable number of entries - usually gathered over two to four weeks - you should return your diary to us:

  • email: email to Customerservices@newcastle-staffs.gov.uk
  • post: Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, Castle House, Barracks Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 1BL
  • in person to Castle House

Please keep the originals.

You will need to keep your diary up to date whilst your complaint is being investigated - so keep filling diary sheets out after you return them to us. You can download additional diaries if you wish.

What happens if I don't return the diary?

If you do not return your diary to us, we will not be able to help you. If we do not receive your diary within six weeks of the date of your complaint, we will assume that the matter has been resolved and your case will be closed.
