Some inspections (often first inspections) require a veterinary surgeon to attend. Where this applies their charge is included in our fee. Prices include VAT where appropriate.
How do I apply?

Please ensure that:

- supporting documents are included (if required)
- the information provided is accurate and up to date
Incomplete applications may take longer to process.
Upload your form and pay
Once you have completed the form, upload it using our online service and make the required payment.
You will need:
- your completed application form
- any supporting documents
- a debit or credit card to pay the application fee

What happens next?
Once we receive your application and payment, we will review the information provided. If we need any additional information, we will contact you.
How long is the licence valid for?
A licence is valid for 3 years.
Refunds
Refunds of licence fees are not normally given. Only in exceptional circumstances, as deemed by the Head of Regulatory Services, will a refund be considered. Any refunds given may be subject to an administration charge or reduced if officers or the council’s vet have made site visits.
Licence refusals
If an officer advises that a licence will be refused or will be suspended, they should provide details with the reasons why.
