Fees

Some inspections (often first inspections) require a veterinary surgeon to attend. Where this applies their charge is included in our fee. Prices include VAT where appropriate:

First licence

first licence application fee: £220 (non refundable)

first licence completion fee: £175

Renewals

renewal application fee: £175 (non refundable)

renewal completion fee: £175

Grading review

grading review: £96

Variation

variation: £118

A licence is valid for one, two or three years depending on inspection and star grading.

Refunds

Refunds of licence fees are not normally given. Only in exceptional circumstances, as deemed by the Head of Regulatory Services, will a refund be considered. Any refunds given may be subject to an administration charge or reduced if officers or the council’s vet have made site visits.
