Polling Place Review 2023

Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places 2023

In compliance with the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013, we have recently conducted a review of all of our current polling districts and polling places (the places and buildings where polling stations are located).

We welcomed feedback on any aspect of polling districts and/or polling places currently used and invited representation and comments from interested electors within the borough, as well as any person or body with the expertise in relation to access for persons with any type of disability. Any persons making representations relating to the unsuitability of a polling station were also encouraged to provide an alternative venue. Anybody making representations should be aware that, upon completion of the review, all correspondence and representations received must, by law, also be published

The consultation period for the review ran from Monday 27 November 2023 and closed on Tuesday 2 January 2023.

The outcome of the review was published by the Council in February 2024 and is available for inspection at the link below and at the Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council offices, Castle House, Barracks Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 1BL.

The recommendations for changes to the UK Parliamentary constituency boundaries have also now been published by the Boundary Commissions for England.  It is expected that they will be made by the end of November 2023, with UK Parliamentary general elections held after this date to be run on the new boundaries. The final recommendation maps can be found below.
