Consultation and notification

Consultation partners

Depending on the location and the nature of the proposed development, we may be legally required to consult certain organisations, such as:

  • the Highways Authority
  • English Heritage
  • Environment Agency

We must take their advice into consideration when making a decision on the planning application.

In other cases, we will seek the views of:

  • other departments within Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council
  • Staffordshire County Council
  • the utility companies
  • others as necessary

This is to obtain advice which will help to reach the right decision on the application. These organisations have to respond within a specified time limit, which will be at least 14 days.
