Swimming lessons direct debit agreement

Terms and conditions

  • The learn to swim programme operates over 50 weeks of the year, your child will be allocated 1 swimming lessons per week and each lesson is 30 minutes in duration (including registration).
  • You may request a change of time, day or swimming teacher and we will try to accommodate your request, provided a space is available.
  • The learn to swim programme charges will be reviewed annually and determined by Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council. Jubilee2 will endeavour to deliver classes as stated in the timetable, however, should unforeseen circumstances arise, we reserve the right to amend the learn to swim timetable as and when necessary.
  • All juniors in the learn to swim programme will be eligible for free swimming at Jubilee2 facilities. Junior members under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult in the pool during Leisure Swims, at the standard fee.
  • A Lyme card must be presented to qualify for free swimming. Lost or stolen Lyme cards can be reported at reception. This should be done as soon as possible. A charge will be made for a replacement card this is £2.50.
  • Swimming lessons are not transferable. Attempted use of the Lyme card by a non-member will result in the cancellation of swimming lessons without any refund of fees already paid. The Lyme card must be presented on every leisure swim visit and a receipt obtained. Jubilee2 operate a 'no card, no entry' policy, unless, a replacement card is purchased, or, the full price of the activity is paid.
  • A photograph is required for all membership cards and will be taken on collection of your Lyme card.
  • New participants enrolling on the learn to swim programme at Jubilee2 will be required to sign up to direct debit payments. Should this prove to be a barrier to participation, Jubilee2 will endeavour to accommodate an alternative payment method. This will be on a case-by-case basis and in agreement with the operating venue and customer.
  • By signing the direct debit mandate, you are confirming that you are authorised to set up payments from the account for a minimum period of 3 months.
  • Access to swimming lessons/public sessions is valid from the date of the first payment.
  • Direct debits will be collected on the 5th of each month, or next banking day. The initial direct debit will include an element of a pro-rata payment dependant on date of the next swimming lesson.
  • For junior applicants, a parent or guardian must complete the direct debit mandate online.
  • Any member paying by direct debit will be notified of any changes to their direct debit payment. To opt out at any time, after the minimum contract period, a minimum of one calendar month’s written notice is required. This can be done by emailing J2aquatics@newcastle-staff.gov.uk
  • If a direct debit payment or written cancellation notice is not received, a letter will be sent to the payee advising of the amount due and that the direct debit has been suspended. The payee will be advised that they will not be permitted to join the programme until all amounts due are paid in full. If the outstanding amount remains unpaid, the swimming lessons will be cancelled, and the payee will be invoiced for any outstanding monies.
  • The council may change your direct debit payment fee at any time upon giving three months’ notice of its intention to do so.
  • The council may give such notice by letter, e-mail or by notice board information at its sports facility. Where such changes are required to be put into effect a change in the VAT rate then the obligation to give prior notice shall not apply.
  • Direct debit is for a minimum period of 3 months. Payee’s can cancel at any time after 3 months of direct debit has been completed but must give a minimum of one calendar months’ notice in writing. This can be done by emailing J2aquatics@newcastle-staff.gov.uk
  • Viewing is not allowed on either poolside.

Cancellations

  • We must receive your cancellation notice by the first day of the month and your payment plan will end on the last day of the month: otherwise, you will be liable for one more payment, with continued swimming.
  • It is the direct debit holders responsibility to make sure that the cancelation is emailed to J2aquatics@newcastle-staff.gov.uk and that the direct debit is cancelled through their bank in order to guarantee cancellation. Once the final direct debit has been collected in relation to the contract payments taken where you have not done this will not be refunded.
  • Jubilee2 will provide a qualified swimming teacher for each lesson. Should the regular teacher be absent for any reason, the centre will take all reasonable measures to provide a qualified teacher. In the event that no teacher can be secured, the lesson will be cancelled, and you will be credited for the cancelled lesson with the following months direct debit.

Parent's membership

  • All parents must have a Lyme card to access the facilities. A charge of £2.50 will be made for a replacement card.
  • A subscription will be added to your card every 3 months.

Swimwear

  • Appropriate swimwear must be worn in conjunction with Jubilee2 dress code for bather’s policy.
  • Babies and toddlers must wear suitable leak-proof swim pants that will help contain leakage in the event of accidental soiling.

Personal information

  • Jubilee2 undertakes to use personal information responsibly, in accordance with the law, keeping it accurate and up to date. It is the member's responsibility to ensure that any changes to the personal details provided are advised immediately.
