Playgrounds

Playgrounds in Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough

We have more than 60 formal playgrounds, with a variety of equipment.

When are they inspected?

These playgrounds have weekly safety and maintenance inspections.

They are undertaken by fully qualified playground engineers. They will identify any repairs needed.

These are generally completed during the inspection to keep playgrounds open for play.

What if repairs are not possible?

Sometimes repairs are not possible.

We may replace equipment or remove it through a programmed equipment replacement programme. However, this is subject to funding.

What happens during an inspection?

During the inspections, we will remove any dangerous items such as broken glass.

We will respond to any reported dangerous issues as soon as possible.

Other owners

Some play facilities are the responsibility of, parish councils or housing developers. You should report any issues relating to these facilities to the relevant owner.
