Finding us….

The museum is in Brampton Park,on the A527 from Newcastle town centre heading towards Wolstanton and May Bank. The museum postcode is ST5 0QP if you are using a satnav.

Buses 98 and 99 which start and terminate at Newcastle bus station stop at the park.

Welcome back – we have missed you!

Things have changed since we were last open. We have adopted measures to keep you and our staff safe. These are the things you need to know…

  • Our opening hours are now Sunday - Thursday 12.30pm - 4pm

  • You MUST wear a face covering (under 11s exempt and other exemptions apply)

  • Each day we will close between 3pm - 3.15pm for cleaning

  • The first floor – Toys and Street Scene will be closed – Sorry!.

  • We ask that you observe the 2m social distancing rule at all times

  • We will record your contact details for Track and Trace purposes. You can also check in with the QR code.

  • We have provided hand sanitiser throughout the museum. Please use it for your own safety and for the safety of others.

  • We encourage card payments.

At this time we are unable to deal with detailed enquiries about the collections in person. Please contact us via our email address if you have an enquiry.

For your car…

We have a free car park just in front of the building. There are two disabled parking spaces and extra parking is available next to the children’s play area and the café.

During busy times, the overflow car park at the entrance to the museum will be open. There are parking spaces with parking meters on Brampton Road.

There are two parking spaces for Blue Badge holders at the front of the museum.

For easy access…. 

There is wheelchair access available to all areas. We have an accessible toilet.

We have a wheelchair available to visitors kindly donated to us by Castle Comfort Centre, Wolstanton.

For visitors with hearing impairment we hold a portable induction loop at reception and also an induction loop in the main gallery. These can be used by switching hearing aids to the T-position.

For babies (and parents)…

There are baby changing facilities available in all toilets. Breastfeeding mothers are welcome and a quiet area can be provided if required.
