Changes to parking permits

From 1 December 2025, most parking permits are sold through the RingGo parking app, a secure and convenient online platform. This change is designed to make the process faster, easier, and more flexible for you.

What you need to know

  • This applies to all council-owned car parks except our new multi-story, Castle Car Park.
  • Paper permits will be replaced by a digital permit, managed on the RingGo app.
  • You can buy up to 5 permits per RingGo account (if you are buying 10 or more permits, call us to find out how you receive your multi-buy discount).
  • Current paper permits will remain active until their expiry date. When it’s time to renew, you’ll need to use RingGo.

What you need to do

  • Create an account (it's quick and easy to do).
  • Select the main car park you need from the map, and pick the '1 month' or '3 months' option when asked how long you want to park for (the permit will be valid on our other open air car parks).
  • Purchase your permit through RingGo. It will be valid for 1 or 3 months from the date that you buy it.
  • If you are a company buying on behalf of your staff, we recommend that your staff use the app to purchase their permit and then claim on expenses in accordance with your company policy.
