Parking permits
On street resident permit schemes
Resident permits for Pool Dam, Silverdale Road and Hassell Street are changing.
We published a consultation earlier this year proposing to remove the resident permit scheme. As no objections were received and there was very low take up of the scheme previously, the traffic regulation order (TRO) has been updated and the resident permit scheme has been removed.
What you need to know
- Resident permits have been phased out.
- Your existing paper permits will remain valid until it’s expiry date.
- Standard permits for council car parks are available to purchase via the RingGo app.
- Permits cover all of our open-air car parks (i.e. not the multi-story Castle car park).
- All other on-street parking permits and resident permit schemes are issued by Staffordshire County Council.
What you need to do if you want a standard parking permit
- Download the RingGo app from your app store or visit the RingGo website.
- Create an account (it's quick and easy to do).
- Select the main car park you need from the map, and pick the '1 month' or '3 months' option when asked how long you want to park for (the permit will be valid on our other open air car parks).
- Purchase your permit through RingGo. It will be valid for 1 or 3 months from the date that you buy it.
- Please note: some of our car parks also allow for overnight permits - be sure to pick the correct option.
