Assessments

Climbers are required to do an asssessment before they are signed off as competent to use the wall safely.

Adult climbing assessment for ropes and auto belays

To be signed off for the ropes all users must demonstrate the following:

  • put on a climbing harness
  • tie a figure 8 rethreaded with stopper knot
  • good belay technique
  • hold a fall and lower off the climber

Auto belay only assessment

You must demonstrate the following:

  • put on a climbing harness
  • attach yourself to the auto belays
  • show safe usage of the auto belays
