Council Tax relief (Section 13A)
If you are going through financial hardship and are struggling to meet your Council Tax payments, you can apply for Council Tax Relief. It is called a Section 13A because it comes under Section 13A of the Local Government Finance Act.
Every council taxpayer is entitled to make an application for a discretionary Council Tax reduction. We must provide the funding for any Council Tax relief, so council tax relief will only be given in exceptional circumstances.
