Equality, diversity and inclusion
As part of the Equality Act we must publish at least one objective or aim that we hope to work towards to achieve equality across the borough.
Protect vulnerable people from crime, anti-social behaviour and domestic violence.
Promote healthy lifestyle choices and encourage participation in sport and physical activity. To reduce poor health and deprivation across Newcastle borough.
Work with other organisations to reduce the number of people who are out of work and to improve educational achievement and skills development, particularly amongst young people.
To develop staff and councillors, making sure that we support the different needs of our workforce.
We will monitor our progress in meeting these objectives by regular checking against what we have said we would do in our council plan.
