A previous Castle Food and Drink Fest was hailed a success.

Prepare yourself for yuletide yumminess as Castle Food & Drink Fest returns to Newcastle-under-Lyme on Saturday, 14 December –  this time with a side of Christmas cheer.

Taking place from 2pm to 7pm, Castle Winter Food & Drink Fest – located on the Ironmarket and High Street – promises an afternoon and evening filled with mouth watering food, holiday tipples, artisan gifts, free family activities and live music.

Delivered in collaboration between Newcastle-under-Lyme BID and Independent Street, Castle Winter Food & Drink Fest builds on the success of the August Bank Holiday food festival for a cracking Christmas edition.

Parking on council-owned car parks in the town centre costs £1 after 1pm until 8am the following morning.

What to Expect:

  • Hot food traders offering seasonal street food including toasties, seasonal dumplings, bubble waffles, mulled wine and much more
  • Artisan foodies perfect for Christmas gifts including biltong, fudges and festive cheeses and chutneys
  • Handcrafted holiday gifts including candles and handmade jewellery
  • Children's holiday activities and crafts, Christmas ornament making and a special visit from much-loved characters
  • Sweet and savoury smores cooking over fire experience with Fern and Fable
  • Live music and giveaways with Dan Townley from 6 Towns Radio

Lisa Cowley, from Independent Street, shares her excitement:

After the success of our event earlier this year, we are so excited to be back in Newcastle-under-Lyme working alongside the BID. Christmas is such a special family time and we are looking forward to putting on a great winter event for you to enjoy. The day will be packed full of festive food, creativity, vibrancy, a few surprises and activities for the whole family. Expect winter warmers, cheeky tipples and festive treats. We can’t wait to see you all there.”

Charlie Machin, Projects & Marketing Executive, adds:

Nothing beats the buzz of Christmas in town set against the backdrop of the Christmas lights. The Castle Winter Food & Drink festival sees delicious food, live music and festive vibes for the whole family – even dogs! Shop, eat, drink and soak up the Christmas spirit while supporting your local high street.”
