Makers Market hits the High Street this Saturday

Shoppers in Newcastle-under-Lyme will be able to select from a wide range of independently made goods and support local producers by visiting the town’s High Street this Saturday.
The Makers Market will be running from 10am until 4pm on 9 August – celebrating creativity, craftsmanship and community spirit. It takes place each second Saturday of the month.
People can choose from handmade crochet toys, ceramics, cookies and brownies to 3D-printed gifts, traditional Polish bread, handmade wooden plaques and much more to enjoy themselves or for the perfect unique gift for others.
Visitors will also be able to listen to the sounds of a live DJ, while children can take part in a free crafting station, circus skills and football. And shoppers can tuck in to a selection of food including homemade loaded fries and burgers and German hotdogs.
Stephen Sweeney, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council’s deputy leader and portfolio holder for Finance, Town Centres and Growth, said:
We’re pleased the Makers Market has made a welcome return to the High Street to add to its vibrancy on a Saturday and bring shoppers additional choice.
It brings local producers into the town centre with their unique range which people will appreciate.
We hope as many people as possible come along to what will be an enjoyable event for all the family this Saturday. We look forward to this and future Makers Markets.”
