The Council response re sharing information

A number of residents have raised concerns with us about the Council sharing data with Walleys Quarry Ltd. as part of the Statutory Nuisance Abatement Notice court proceedings.

We understand your concerns.

If we can reassure you on this, it is a legal requirement of the court and as part of that Walleys Quarry Ltd. also have to exchange their data with the Council. This is all part of the process the Council is engaged in to seek to bring the issues experienced by residents to an end.

This exchange is to make sure that both parties have the information they need to prepare for the trial. Un-redacted data is required for this as the data needs to be verifiable.

The information cannot be used by Walleys Quarry Ltd other than to inform the appeal case against the abatement notice.
