Borough Council by-election to be held
A by-election will be held for a single seat in Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council’s Town ward.
A date for the election will be announced in due course.
The vacancy follows the resignation of borough councillor Christine Duffy. The resignation letter was dated 20 August, 2026, and received by the Proper Officer on the 21 August, 2026.
The other borough councillor representing Town ward is Sheelagh Casey-Hulme. Cllr Casey-Hulme is unaffected by this and continues in her role.
