Civic Pride campaign comes to Keele, Madeley and Betley
Council teams, local volunteers and partner organisations are joining forces to give Keele, Madeley and Betley some extra care and attention as Civic Pride comes to these villages.
Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council’s Civic Pride campaign will visit Keele on Wednesday, 23 September, followed by Madeley and Betley on Friday, 25 September, working alongside Aspire Housing and Staffordshire Police.
The Civic Pride campaign has taken place in communities across the borough. The programme is about bringing people together to create cleaner, safer and better-kept neighbourhoods, with residents helping to identify the issues that matter most in their own communities.
On Wednesday 23 September at 10am, the teams will meet at Knights Croft, Keele, for a walkabout and litter pick, along with bulb planting. Then on Friday 25 September, they will meet at Madeley Centre at 10am so start a litter pick in the local area.
Cllr. Andrew Fisher, Cabinet member for Residents’ Services and Neighbourhoods, said:
People in Keele, Madeley and Betley know their communities better than anyone. We want to listen to them, tackle the problems they raise and work alongside the fantastic volunteers who already give their time to make these villages a better place.
Whether it’s clearing litter, tackling weeds or simply reporting something that needs sorting, everyone can play their part.
These might sound like small things, but clean streets, well-kept public spaces and strong communities matter. When residents, volunteers, the council and our partners all pull together, we can make a real difference.”
The Civic Pride campaign continues to visit communities across the borough as part of the council's commitment to creating cleaner, safer and more welcoming places for residents, businesses and visitors.
