Design and access statements
A design and access statement is a report which supports a planning application. It helps to show the process that has led to the final design of a proposal in a structured way.
We have more information about design and access statements in our planning section.
Heritage statements
Heritage statements, or statements of significance often go with design and access statements. They are statements that show that consideration has been given to the protection of a heritage asset and or its setting.
Its purpose is to identify important characteristics or significance of the existing heritage asset. It will explain how the proposals would affect these aspects and justify why this is necessary or desirable.
This will help to ensure care is taken to keep the special appearance and character of the building or area which is affected.
