High hedge complaints

We can deal with complaints about hedges that are so high that it is affecting the level of light coming into a property or affecting the view out of a window.

We will not be able to deal with:

• untidy hedges

• hedges that shed their leaves annually

• boundary disputes

• subsidence or damage to property

Involving us must be your last resort and a complaint can only be made if you really cannot agree a solution with the owner of the hedge. We can refuse to get involved if you have not done everything you reasonably could to settle your dispute before making a formal complaint.

We will not consider a complaint received within 12 months of a previous complaint about the same hedge.

We would also recommend that you check whether the hedge is protected.
