Temporary Event Notices

Anyone wishing to hold an event where any licensable activity will take place must give notice of the event (a Temporary Event Notice) to the Council at least 10 working days before the event takes place. A copy of the notice must also be given to the Police and to the Environmental Health Department.

The 10 days does not include:

  • The day the application is accepted by the licensing office
  • The day of the event

A late Temporary Event Notice can also be given up to five working days but not later than nine working days before an event is due to take place.

A 'working day' is any day other than a Saturday, Sunday or a Bank Holiday.
