About us
Environmental sustainability
At Brampton Museum we value sustainability and we strive to protect our planet and give back where possible. We are environmentally responsible and locally source our products and services.
Travel
- We have green cycle routes that lead to the museum and a bike rack for storage during your visit. For more information on travel options, please see our contact or visit us page.
- The museum is within walking distance of Newcastle town centre, the walk takes around 15 minutes
- We’re easily accessible via bus with a bus stop just across the road from us with connections across Staffordshire.
Sustainable Practices
- We recycle everything we possibly can and have reduced the use of single use plastics in our café and events.
- Our new areas include high standards of insulation and glazing, air source heating, LED lighting and natural vent automatic windows for cooling.
- We use 100% recycled toilet paper, Ecolabel certified paper and recycled plastic bin bags which contain farm waste polythene for lower environmental impact.
- We use local suppliers for our cafe and craft shop.
Biodiversity at the Brampton
- We are proud to show off our wildlife garden which is a thriving habitat for many plant and insect species. If you take the time to look you may spot some azure damselflies or our purple veined geranium.
- Behind our pond you can also find the aviary of rescue
dbirds including the impressive silver pheasant and our cockatoos.
