Kidsgrove Town Deal project: Kidsgrove Station

Is the work really going to happen this time?

The project group for the station brings together all the organisations that are responsible for making the station project happen, and a detailed plan of work is being prepared. The preliminary work on the bridge strengthening has been completed and the additional funding for the rest of the project is in place.

What is the timescale?

The disabled access to all platforms was completed in 2022. The main works on the station building started in 2023 and should be completed by the end of 2024.

Will access to the station and Station Street be affected?

The work will be phased to ensure the minimum of disruption to the area. Local businesses will be kept informed of impending works.

Why do we need a 200 space car park?

To cope with increased projected demand for station use and provide additional parking for the town centre including for local residents and businesses.
