Madeley neighbourhood plan
Designation
On 10 April 2017, Madeley Parish Council applied to us to designate the parish of Madeley as a neighbourhood area. The proposed neighbourhood area was approved by us on 11 May 2017.
This designation is in accordance with Regulation 5A of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) and Development Management Procedure (Amendment) Regulations 2016 which came into force on 1 October 2016. These regulations included an amendment whereby if a neighbourhood area application from a parish council equates to the whole of the parish area, consultation prior to the designation of the neighbourhood area is no longer required. The qualifying body was Madeley Parish Council.
A map showing the extent of the designated neighbourhood area and a covering letter from the parish council which explains why the designated area is considered to be appropriate can be downloaded:
Madeley Parish Council have also produced a website with information relating to the production of the Madeley neighbourhood plan.
