Fees

Some inspections (often first inspections) require a veterinary surgeon to attend. Where this is applicable a price will be provided on application. 

  • first licence: £632
  • renewal: £395
  • annual horse check: £379 (price on application as of 1st April)
  • grading review: £91
  • variation: £114

A licence is valid for up to 3 years depending on inspection and star grading.

Refunds

Refunds of licence fees are not normally given. Only in exceptional circumstances, as deemed by the Head of Regulatory Services, will a refund be considered. Any refunds given may be subject to an administration charge or reduced if officers or the council’s vet have made site visits.
