Sector specific support for businesses

Town centre businesses

Newcastle town centre

The Newcastle-under-Lyme Business Improvement District (BID) has now been in operation for 10 years. In this time it has attracted over £4m of income which has been invested in a wide range of projects aimed at improving the town centre’s appeal, safety, and economic vitality. These include marketing campaigns, public realm enhancements, business support initiatives, and events to boost footfall and community engagement.

In November 2025, businesses voted for a third term of five years, which will run from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031. All eligible businesses will contribute to the BID via an additional levy. However, businesses can join voluntarily to access specific benefits. Find out more from the business plan (PDF document on an external site).

Kidsgrove

Businesses in Kidsgrove can become part of 'Go Kidsgrove', the town centre partnership for Kidsgrove.
