Registering as a Crown Servant or British Council employee

If you are working outside the UK as a Crown Servant or as an employee of the British Council, you can register as a Crown Servant or British Council employee voter.

Your spouse or registered civil partner can also register this way if they go with you during your employment abroad.

You will need to update your registration on a yearly basis - we will contact you when you need to do this. If you do not renew, your record on the electoral register will be removed and you will need to re-register.

What information is needed?

To register online, you will need:

your name

your date of birth

your National Insurance number (if you have one)

your payroll or staff ID number

The process will take around five minutes to complete.
