Our workshops
Frequently asked questions
Do you do workshops for home education groups?
Yes we do! All our workshops can be adapted for home education groups. Please note our WW2 workshops are only suitable for key stage 2 ages.
Where can we have lunch?
Lunch can be eaten picnic style in the park if the weather is fine or in our education space. Supervision of visiting groups at lunchtime is the responsibility of the school. The park is a great place to run around and has a well-equipped play area. If you wish for a longer lunch to do this please advise us prior to your trip. The Vintage Tearoom is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays should any adults wish to purchase a hot drink, sandwich or cake.
Is there minibus parking?
There is normally room to drop off and pick up with a minibus on the museum carpark, if not please use the carpark by the park entrance instead. If the minibus is staying during the day, please park in the carpark by the park entrance. There are two disabled parking spaces in the museum carpark which can fit normal sized minibuses, for groups with mobility needs. Contact bryony.jackson@newcastle-staffs.gov.uk for a carpark map.
Where can coaches drop off?
The drive up to the main museum building is narrow and doesn’t allow for coach turning. We suggest your group leaves the coach at the park entrance and walks the short distance to the museum. There is no coach parking on site.
What are the adult to child ratios for a visit?
This depends on the age of the children and the workshop. Contact bryony.jackson@newcastle-staffs.gov.uk for details.
Do you have a risk assessment?
Risk assessments are sent out with your booking form. If you would like one prior to booking contact bryony.jackson@newcastle-staffs.gov.uk
