Homelessness
In 2019-2020, the overall data for prevention and relief duties that were accepted were 456, broken down into:
- prevent - 260
- relief - 196
The majority of those accepted as homeless fell within the age group of 25 to 44-year olds.
The causes of homelessness in the borough reflect the national picture of parents, relatives or friends no longer willing or able to accommodate.
According to the annual figures, 2019-2020, domestic abuse continues to be the biggest cause of homelessness.
