The community and sustainability

Recycling and waste

By properly using our waste and recycling systems you can save much of your waste from going to landfill and increase the amount of reused and recycled products in our supply chain. Less products end up as litter and pollution helping biodiversity in the borough.

Residents

Please help us by:

  • buying carefully creates less household rubbish and less rubbish at work. We need to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as we can of everything we buy. On average, people in the UK throw away their bodyweight in rubbish every seven weeks
  • for any clothes, books and other unwanted items tht are clean, please donate them at charity donation points and shops

Visitors

Please help us by:

  • using the public waste bins around the borough instead of littering
  • aiming to use more reusable products whilst in the borough to reduce the waste you produce (for example, reusable coffee cups)
  • avoiding investing in single use items whilst in the borough
