Frequently asked questions

What paperwork should I receive or obtain for managing my waste?

You'll need to obtain a waste transfer note from the company or companies collecting your waste to keep you legal. Keep this document for two years, as you may be asked to present it if an enforcement officer from your local council or the Environment Agency ask to see it.

Some companies have extra charges when you ask for a waste transfer note.  We don't.  You automatically get the waste transfer note as part of our charges, and it's clearly marked on your invoice.

The UK government is currently working towards moving this process online.

If you transport your own waste between stores, depots or distribution hubs, you'll also need to register as a waste carrier.

It's illegal to take business waste home at put it into your bins there.
